What’s Up Party People?

Miss me?

I’ve missed you. Just been a little crazy busy around these parts and hence the blog is suffering. Right now I’m in dire need of some chocolate, but there is none to be found in my office. What is a girl to do? I could actually leave the office and go grab a cupcake. Hmm. Perhaps. We shall see. I’ve depleted my supply of ice breakers sours and am about to resort to viactiv chews. Nah. Too gross.

Anyhoo. Life is busy. Life is good. Life is crazy.

O is liking her new school a lot. It’s a Montessori and she’s starting to adopt some of the “grace and courtesy” skills they are teaching. Which is great. They have these rugs they use when they are working on an activity on the floor. They are supposed to roll up the rugs and put them away when they are done. O has taken to rolling up dish towels, placemats, and blankets as if they are these rugs. It’s cute. She also put me down for a nap last night… on the baby doll changing mat… and rubbed my back but wouldn’t sing me a song because as she says, “i’m not a mommy right now. i’m a teacher” Oh. So I guess teachers rub backs and pat, but they don’t sing.

She is also starting to try to pick up an activity when she is done, especially if she’s taken the time to roll out the rug.. or dishtowel.. but, I really wish “grace and courtesy” skills included “don’t ignore your mother” skills. Because I’m really tired of asking questions that simply get ignored as if she doesn’t hear me. Yah. Wasn’t that supposed to start when she was like, I don’t know, 12 or 13?

M is trying really hard to stand without being supported and she really, really, really wants to walk. She may or may not also be getting some teeth (finally, she’s 11 months old and still sans teeth! i know, crazy right?). At least that is what I am blaming the every 2-3 hour wake ups at night and the constant cranky pants while I’m trying to get ready. Good thing she is freaking hilarious and super cute. She is really enjoying playing peek-a-boo and has the funniest look on her face when she’s waiting for you to discover her.

Really, both girls are pretty great. I like them a whole bunch. One might even say that I love them. Good thing too right? Since I am their mother and all.
